A total of 37 lots in Waterways may be acquired by the RMWB

With only three Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee meetings left before the group is dismantled, last nights agenda was on heavier side.

The main item being discussed was the Waterways slope stability.

The Waterways slope stability assessment indicates that this will not mitigate the risk to the larger Waterways community, however many delegates and residents of Waterways thought otherwise.

Some residents living in other areas of Waterways also want the option to get their lots bought out.

Member of the Committee, Marty Giles would also like to see a buyout offer for an additional 14 properties in Zone 3.

This would add about $3.5-Million on top of the $6.5-Million cost of the first 21 lots.

A second motion was passed that would see a report into also acquiring these additional lots that will be presented at a WBRC meeting on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
