An announcement is expected Thursday afternoon, to trigger the merger of the PC and Wildrose in Alberta.
A news conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Edmonton.
Sources tell 660 NEWS both parties will hold a ratification vote in July.
Discussions about uniting the right began soon after Jason Kenney was elected PC leader back in March.
At the time, Wildrose Leader Brian Jean said he was encouraged by the positive and constructive tone of his first meeting with Kenney.
