Phase two of construction of the Conklin water treatment plant will receive a boost in funding from the province.
The Government of Alberta (GOA) has committed more than $131 million to to provide clean drinking water and wastewater treatment to rural Albertans.
Twenty-nine water infrastructure projects will be supported through the Water for Life (W4L) and Alberta Municipal Water/Wasterwater Partnership (AMWWP) grant programs.
Conklin’s treatment plant will receive $764,354 from AMWWP.
The total cost of the project is $2,862,750, the municipality will be responsible for covering the rest of the bill at $2,098,396.
