Earlier this month the Government of Alberta released two reports from the 2016 wildfire and now you have the chance to complete a survey to answer how you thought the wildfire was handled.

The RMWB has brought in KPMG to conduct an independent review of the wildfire response.

This review will look at the following four related areas of emergency management that align with Public Safety Canada’s model:

  • Mitigation/prevention
  • Preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery

This specific survey will gather the views of residents on availability and usefulness of recovery support programs and initiatives.

It will provide valuable feedback and lessons learned to communities that may face similar disasters in the future.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to take the survey.

This process is intended to build on the reports the government has done, to which 5,000 residents contributed.

The survey is available until June 30, 2017.
