Giants beat Bulls again, win three of four

The Fort McMurray Giants continue to win ball games as they hope to jump back into a playoff spot in the Western Division, after their 4-2 win on Sunday afternoon against the Lethbridge Bulls at Shell Place.

It was the final game of four between the Bulls (9-5) and the Giants (4-10).

One day after a heartbreaking 7-6 loss, both teams hit the field again with John Reid on the mound for the Giants. Last time out, Reid pitched just 2.2 innings and gave up 6 runs.

It wasn’t until the third inning that they got on the board with two runs.

The Giants again scored a run off the struggles of the Bulls pitching as Liam Sabiston threw a ball to the backstop that brought Jordan Stickler home, and one batter later, Keegan Marsden drove in Hector Benitez with a sacrifice fly to left field.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Giants scored one more, to take a three-run lead and that third run proved to be the game-winner.

They added one more in the bottom of the seventh.

The Bulls scored twice in the bottom of the ninth and had the bases loaded with two outs, but Trevor Bauer came into to shut the door and solidify the victory.
