You can name the Mascot for the 2018 Alberta Winter Games

Are you 18 and under, and ready for the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games? It’s time to get into the spirit, by naming the Mascot for the games.

Mistiko was the Mascot for the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games’ and now that she is moving on, her little sister needs a name, and that’s where you come in.

The Games host society is looking for youth under the age of 18 to join together to think of a name, that is fun, cultural and recognizes our amazing region.

The deadline to enter your Mascot name is June 28, 2017, by 4:30 p.m., to Eden.Boutilier@2018awg.ca.

If your Mascot name is chosen, you will also receive a new bicycle and helmet.

The Mascot name will be judged on how “catchy” the name is, the cultural or regional connection of the name, the ease of pronouncing the name, and the creativity and back story behind the name, so get your friends, think of a great name, and get ready as our community gets set to host the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games.
