Construction will begin this week on emergency exit routes in Abasand, Beacon Hill and Wood Buffalo.
In the case of future emergencies the secondary routes will improve traffic flow by providing another way out of the neighbourhoods.
Construction will take place Monday-Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Crews will begin work in Wood Buffalo, followed by Beacon Hill and Abasand.
