Kim Conway is Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta and Syncrude’s second nominee for their 2017/18 Women of Inspiration Series.
The Women of Inspiration Series recognizes women in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo who inspire, break new ground and old barriers and help create change.
Conway moved to Fort McMurray in 2000 when she was hired with Suncor as a lab technician.
She became involved with her union as a Safety Rep and Union Steward, she moved to a union wide position of Vice Safety Chair and eventually became safety chair within the local.
In 2004, Conway was elected chair of the Unifor Energy Council that represents 14,000 workers across Canada in the energy sector.
Girls Inc. and Syncrude will honour Conway and 11 other nominees at their Women of Inspiration Celebration in June of 2018.
