Our community will celebrate Oktoberfest for the second time on Oct. 14, 2017 at MacDonald Island Park.  As a celebration of Bavarian culture, the event will feature live music, German-inspired food and a variety of beer for you to purchase.

“In 2016, the community displayed their tremendous support of this new event,” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo.  “Tickets for the event sold out quickly last year, and this traditional celebration of German culture was warmly greeted as we lifted Oktoberfest steins for the first time at MacDonald Island Park.  We are delighted to welcome the community to the event this year and we anticipate another fantastic year of fun.”

The Wood Buffalo Brewing Company will be providing a beer cask for the ceremonial “tapping of the first keg” and serve their signature German-inspired beer.

All guests will receive a complimentary stein and are encouraged to wear their best Oktoberfest costumes, with prizes for the best male and female Oktoberfest attire.

Tickets for Oktoberfest presented by Don Scott McMurray Law Office are available for purchase beginning at 10 a.m. on Fri., Sept 8 online and in person at the Shell Place Box Office at MacDonald Island Park for $39 plus applicable fees and taxes.  This event is for adults over the age of eighteen years and youth are not able to attend.
