Councillor Colleen Tatum has decided not to run again for council.
Mother of three, she will be focusing her time at home and with her business.
“My husband own and operate MXC Autiomotive services and I’m part of a financial literacy campaign that has sort of stolen my heart as of late, so I’m sure all of those things will occupy my time,” said Tatum.
She was the chair of both the oversight and sustainable development committees and served as an alternate for the selection committee.
Tatum said her experience on council was invigorating and full of fun despite the routine meeting.
“I loved being able to have that time to being able to debate and learn from my colleagues,” said Tatum. “I found that I learned so much from Mayor Blake and everyone on council, even if you don’t agree with people you can learn so much from them.”
While Tatum’s name will not be on a ballot come October 16, she isn’t ruling out a return to municipal government in the future.
