As part of an upcoming training exercise, you can expect to see emergency vehicles at the water treatment plant.

On Sept. 22, Regional Emergency Services (RES) will be running through an exercise that involves responding to a dangerous goods incident.

“The goal of this training is to evaluate the coordination and communications capabilities for all-hazard incidents,” says RES Training Officer Martin Kratochvil. “We will conduct an exercise debrief after the training to identify the strengths of our emergency response, and areas in which we can improve how we handle a dangerous goods situation.”

RES will work with mutual aid industry partners, municipal departments and private sector organizations.
