MasterBUILT Hotels is celebrating the opening of their newest Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Fort McMurray with the launch of the Common Ground program.
It is the first hotel donation program of its kind in Canada, created by MasterBUILT Hotels as a “Thank you” to the community for welcoming the newest Microtel. MasterBUILT Hotels will be donating $5000 to either Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta, Fort McMurray SPCA or Waypoints, and is asking the community to decide which organization will receive the financial support by voting online.
“This hotel opening has been a long time in the making as we lost the hotel twice to fire during construction, once due to arson on Christmas day in 2015 and then again during the wild fire in May 2016. said Eric Watson, president of MasterBUILT Hotels. “This hotel and community are very special to us and we feel the Common Ground initiative highlights the importance of working together and supporting the wellbeing of the community.”
The public will have until October 18 to place their vote and show their support for the local organizations.
