Festival of Trees supports Northern Lights Health Foundation

The Northern Lights Health Foundation is getting ready to celebrate the season of giving with the Festival of Trees.

The annual 3-day festival includes festivities for the whole family, while raising funds for health care in the RMWB.

Events include the Ladies Holiday Luncheon, Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, Santa’s Workshop, Festival of Trees Gala, Christmas Family Fun with Santa, and new this year the Daddy Daughter Sugar Plum Fairy Ball and weekend-long silent auction!

Many of the events have already sold out, Events Manager Jessica Lipton says there’s still plenty to do to show your support.

“Come check out the trees, we have local entertainment on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and there’s a weekend long silent auction, tonnes of stuff to bid on.”

She adds that Christmas Family Fun is open Sunday Nov. 19 and Santa’s Workshop is open daily for the festival.

“You just purchase passports for the kids when you arrive, so you don’t need tickets.”

The Festival of Trees supports vital medical equipment, programs and services for the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

“Every dollar stays in our region, here in Wood Buffalo.”

Last year’s festival raised nearly $600,000. A portion of which went to therapy lights and incubators for the pediatrics department.

Opportunities for sponsorship, volunteering and tree submission are still available.

The Festival runs Nov. 17 to 19.
