RCMP: Reporting collisions and calling police

Collision rates rise during the first snowfalls of the season, but not all need reporting or police assistance.

With the first significant snowfalls of the season, the Wood Buffalo RCMP are reminding drivers to slow down and adjust their driving.

If there is a serious injury, fatality or impaired driving call 911. In the case of a driver failing to provide registration and insurance or the vehicle is not driveable, contact the RCMP complaint line at 780-788-4000.

Police reports after a collision must be to the the Wood Buffalo RCMP Timberlea location. Reports only need to be made if any injury, even minor occurs or the damage appears to be over $2000.

All hit and runs need to be reported to police. If you see the fleeing vehicle record its make, model and license plate number, even partial plates can be useful.
