RCMP request the public's help locating suspect.

The Wood Buffalo RCMP are requesting the public’s help in located a suspect.

Police were called by two residents of Fort McMurray on November 10, after there was an attempted theft of their trailer with a snowmobile.  The suspects were unable to pull of the heist but they managed to flee the scene in a stolen a 2005 blue Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck.

The truck was spotted by police travelling on the Janvier Reserve when it attempted to turn down a side trail and collided with a tree. Three occupants fled on foot and a track was initiated by Wood Buffalo Police Dog Service.

A 31 year old male, and a 27 year old female have been arrested and remain in police custody with the third occupant of the vehicle yet to be located.

The RCMP would like to remind motorist about idling your vehicle during inclement weather. If motorist choose to idle their vehicle, please ensure that all valuables are removed from the vehicle, and no key’s in the ignition to ensure the vehicle is not used as a crime of opportunity.
