Vista Ridge, the regions ski and snowboarding hill will be opening for the season on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Since the beginning of November the staff of Vista Ridge has been busy prepping for the season.

General Manager of Vista Ridge, Kevin Grogan told MyMcMurray that they are just trying to get back to normal after the 2016 wildfire caused some trouble for them last winter. This year they have made about 20 million gallons of snow so far.

“We are just trying to get back to normal and we had to prepare for the Alberta Winter Games as well so we’re making extra snow in some spots so we can host a really good event,” said Grogan.

While the team is finishing preparations, four of the 11 runs will be ready for November 25, with the full park, including the tubing hill, set to open later in the season.

Vista Ridge will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. and from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. on Fridays beginning in December.
