RMWB proposes new bus terminals

The municipality has proposed the building of two new bus terminals, which are pending approval from Council.

The project includes a new terminal on Thickwood Boulevard in front of the Casman Centre and another on Confederation Way on the corner of Paquette Drive.

If approved, the terminals would include bus bay turnouts for up to 7 transit buses to avoid impacting the flow of traffic, heated bus shelters, fencing for safe pedestrian access and vehicle and pedestrian lighting.

The project is fully funded through federal and provincial grants and will be built on property already owned by the RMWB.

Pending Council approval, the project is expected to start in spring 2018, with an estimated completion of fall 2018. Motorists can expect minor delays because of road closures along the construction areas.
