The Fort Chipewyan winter road is set to be open mid-December pending weather conditions.
Construction is underway on the four major ice bridge river crossings in the delta section with more repairs needed in the sand hills section in areas that were washed out earlier this year.
Once open the winter road will have a load limit of of 5,000 kg or greater pending weather conditions.
