FuseSocial is putting out a call to artists for the seventh edition of the Wood Buffalo Timeraiser.  Timeraiser is a silent art auction with a twist.  Instead of bidding money on artwork, participates bid volunteer hours to help support social profit organizations in the community.  The winning bidders then have 12 months to complete their pledge volunteer hours to receive their artwork.

Through collaboration with the Arts council Wood Buffalo, the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo and local businesses, all the artwork is purchased locally.

In 2017, 53 pieces of art were purchased from local artists for the event, which translated into approximately $21,000 to support the local art community and the art pieces generated approximately 3,165 volunteer hours for the local social profit sector.

Local budding artists aged 12 to 17 are invited to submit up to two pieces of art for the 2018 Timeraiser.

The Wood Buffalo Timeraiser exhibit will be open to the public from March 26 till May 3, 2018 with the Timeraiser reception taking place on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
