CNRL donated $625,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation's Gratitude Campaign. The substantial donation has brought them closer to their $16 million goal.

The Northern Lights Health Foundation’s Gratitude Campaign has received a $625,000 donation from Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL).

The substantial donation is being directed to renovations of the Community Clinic in Conklin and to the Continuing Care unit on the fourth floor of the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

Executive Director of the Northern Lights Health Foundation, Cindy Amerongen said the Community Clinic in Conklin needed to be brought up to infection control.

“It brings us back up to a standard that we always want to have for health care regardless if it’s rural or in our urban centre.”

She added that the renovations to the Continuing Care Unit at the hospital improves the life and everyday well-being of the patients and residents.

The Gratitude Campaign, which incorporates eight projects that will positively impact the health care experience, is still $4 million short from the $16 million goal.

Amerongen said thanks to community donations they expect to reach their goal in the new year.
