From July through to December 2017 the Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section conducted several investigations in an initiative to target drug activity that resulted in over 60 charges to 21 individuals and the seizures of suspected Cocaine, suspected Fentanyl, suspected Heroin, suspected Marijuana, suspected Amphetamines, and cash.
- Kassie Bullock, a 44-year-old female, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Ali Darwiche, a 40-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Curtis Dormouth, a 27-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Abdilahi Elmi, a 32-year-old, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Cody Halpern, a 21-year-old male, charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Joseph Janvier, a 47-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Adnan Kamal, a 58-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Cody Lewis, 28-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Jordan Leblond, 25-year-old male, charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, obstruction, two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of a controlled substance,
- Abdirhman Moalim, 32-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, five counts of failure to comply, and failure to stop,
- David Peniche, a 44-year-old male, Alberta, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Jose Peniche, a 46-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Andrei Picticariu, a 24-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime,
- Matei Picticariu, 22-year-old male, charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime,
- Raymond Riley, a 34-year-old male, charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Vivian Rosin, a 45-year-old female, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Amanda Sereda, a 25-year-old female, charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime,
- Gurmeet Singh, a 27-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Korey Spence, a 26-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Dylan Taylor, a 29-year-old male, charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance,
- Zai Tekie, a 27-year-old male, charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance.
Court appearances for these cases began in October.
The overall investigation is ongoing, and may result in further arrests and charges.
The purposes of these types of investigations are to detect and disrupt persons engaged in supplying controlled drugs and substances on the streets of the community.
