Budget workshop sessions have been moved to the beginning of February.

Council approved Tuesday night to move the sessions to run from Feb. 7 – 10, with a final budget review and approval anticipated for Feb. 27.

A new Budget Primer document will also be released to residents in hopes to make the budget process more accessible.

There will also be a series of public information sessions beginning in late January, providing residents to be a part of the budgeting process.

Residents will have the opportunity to discuss the budgeting process, learn about the importance of the budget and find out how to be more engaged in the process.

Key dates for the information sessions can be found on the municipality’s website.

On Dec. 12, 2017, Council passed an interim Operating Budget of $100 million for the first quarter of 2018. This interim budget allows for continued operations and staffing requirements while a budget for the full year developed, reviewed and considered.
