The Fort McMurray Oil Barons will be wearing something a little different than their standard blue and gold on January 19th and 20th.

The Barons will wear commemorative jerseys and auction them off in support of the Northern Lights Health Foundation when they host the Brooks Bandits and Camrose Kodiaks.

“We’ve all visited a hospital or medical centre for help when we’re ill, injured, or require help from a doctor,” said Oil Barons President David Fitzgerald. “We’re honoured to partner with RE/MAX Fort McMurray once again to raise money for the health foundation and their programs and services that support Wood Buffalo families.”

Bidding for the jerseys will open before puck drop on Jan. 19 and will close at the end of the second intermission on Jan. 20.

Bids can be placed at the Casman Centre Box Office or by calling (780)-743-5509 during office hours on the 20th.

The team held an auction last year in support of the foundation and raised over $11,000.

The health foundation raises money for medical equipment, programs and services in the Wood Buffalo region.
