Cenovus Energy has reported a fatality at the Christina Lake oil sands site Tuesday night.
At approximately 10:20 p.m. an incident involving a hauling truck occurred as a drilling rig was being moved at site.
The incident resulted in the death of a third-party company’s contract worker.
Cenovus has notified the appropriate authorities and is conducting a full investigation into the cause of the incident.
The name of the worker is not being released at this time.
