Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School (FPMCHS) along with the Fort McMurray Catholic School District (FMCSD) said in a release on Mar. 27 that the school is continuing to run as usual after graffiti was found on a washroom wall.

Due to the nature of the graffiti, which was found on Mar. 26 around 2:50 p.m., the RCMP were immediately contacted.

Heightened security includes visits from police throughout the week as the investigation continues.

Both the RCMP and the FMCSD take threats against schools very seriously and steps have been taken to ensure the safety of the students and staff.

If you have any information about this incident you’re asked to contact RCMP at 780-788-4040 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
