FMMHA adds two new teams for 2018/19 season

The Midget "A" Jr. Oil Barons hockey team of the Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association had forfeited the remaining games of their season. Their parents blame the FMMHA for not having a "thorough" investigation and putting their children at risk.

The Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association (FMMHA) is adding two new teams to the Northern Alberta Interlock League (NAI).

Next season there will be a Peewee A and Bantam A team that will host games and travel to other league games.

In a memo, President of the FMMHA, Travis Galenzoski announced the decision stating that it has been a goal of the FMMHA for some time and will require much additional work.

The existing Atom Development Team is also being added to the NAI.

All three teams will be in the Tier 1 Division.

Galenzoski added in the memo that these teams will provide more opportunities for development of players and coaches.
