Arianna Johnson transitions to FMSPCA

Executive Director Arianna Johnson stands next to one of the skids of PEI potatoes

Arianna Johnson has started the transition from Executive Director of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank (WBFB) Association to the Fort McMurray SPCA.

Johnson, who held the position with WBFB for 7 years said it wasn’t an easy decision to make.

“I truly believe that the team that has been built at the WBFB is ready for new leadership and is capable of taking the organization to the next phase of its operations.”

She started her transition to the FMSPCA on a part-time basis on May 28th, but remains full-time at WBFB until July 13 to help with new leadership at the food bank.

Under her leadership WBFB was able to grow from a staff of three providing small hampers of non-perishable food, into a staff of 12 that focuses on food security, education and helping families achieve self-sufficiency.

Johnson said she looks forward to hearing from stakeholders about the importance of the FMSPCA in our region.
