Yard waste accepted with regular curbside collection

Yard waste must be placed in brown paper bags and put beside regular curbside collection bins to be picked up.

Yard waste can be disposed of with your regular curbside collection as long as it is put out in brown paper bags. Plastic bags and compostable bags are not accepted as they are not compatible with the shredding machines at the landfill.

Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, flowers, weeds, plants, or small twigs and sticks.

Kitchen food scraps, pet waste or non-organic garden waste such as broken plant pots or other commercial yard waste will not be accepted.

Each household is limited to four bags or 35 pounds of yard waste per week that can be placed at the curb beside regular collection bins on regularly scheduled curbside collection dates. If extra bags are put out, the curbside crews will issue a notification advising of the issue, and the extra bags will not be picked up.

Collection will run until autumn when snow begins to fall. Yard waste can also be disposed of year-round at the landfill at no charge.
