Will Gibson, spokesperson for Syncrude, confirmed that a power disruption is affecting operations out at Syncrude today and additional flaring will be done to rectify the situation.
The Alberta Energy Regular and Fort McKay First nation have both been notified and no safety incidents or injuries have been reported.
At this time, it is not known when things will be back to normal or what areas of the plant are affected.
