Michael Bridgeman, kindergarten student at Walter and Gladys Hill has started a fundraiser to help the homeless.
After talking with his mom, Michelle Summers, Michael realized that not everyone is as fortunate as he is and he was inspired to give back to the community.
“I was actually sad because they don’t have as much as me, so I want to help the homeless,” said Michael.
He got to work and created some artwork that he calls “H people,” with the letter H standing for hope and thus “Michael’s Hope” was born.
Michael then met with his teacher, Ms. Leigh White who helped him take the project to the next level. With the help of the school principal and a graphic designer, they made 500 pins with Michael’s design on them.
So far, $1000 has been raised for the Centre of Hope where pins are available for purchase for $5.
