Syncrude isn’t expected to return to full production until mid-September.

In June, the site loss power and steam generation because of a transformer trip in the power house. No injuries of safety incidents were reported.

Suncor released an update on Monday, power and steam have been fully restored and an assessment to repair the transformer is underway.

One coker, producing 150,000 barrels of oil per day, is expected to come online in the second half of July and a second coker producing 100,000 bbls/d should return to service in the first half of August.

Pipeline shipments will be 60 to 70 per cent capacity for August with full production returning by mid-September.

Syncrude will also look at the possibility of performing planned maintenance that was originally scheduled for the fall of 2018 and the spring of 2019.
