Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) has reached a production milestone.
The oilsands company announced on Thursday that their Jackpine and Muskeg River mines had produced one billion barrels of oil since beginning operation in 2003.
President, Tim McKay, said this milestone demonstrates the size and scale of the oilsands.
“This milestone could not have been achieved without the dedication of the employees and contractors who focus on safe, reliable operations, while minimizing our environmental footprint to ensure long term sustainable development.”
Canadian Natural has a 70 per cent working interest in the Athabasca Oilsands Project.
