Mikisew Aecon Limited Partnership has been awarded a Master Service Agreement (MSA) at Suncor Energy’s Fort Hills oilsands project.

Mikisew Aecon Limited Partnership is a new joint venture between Mikisew Group of Companies, who owns the majority at 51 per cent and Aecon Group Inc., owns the remaining 49 per cent.

“We’re very pleased to announce the creation of our new partnership with Aecon,” said Edward Courtoreille, Chief Executive Officer, Mikisew Group of Companies. “Aecon’s proven track record working effectively with Indigenous communities across the country, along with their success as a trusted partner in the oil sands industry, made it an easy decision to form this partnership.”

The two initial contracts will have the Mikisew Aecon Limited remove the overburden as well as other major civil and earthworks at Fort Hills and bring in an estimated $100 million.

Work on the initial projects started in the second quarter of 2018 and are expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2019.
