The 2018 ATCO Fort McMurray Food Festival raised $50,000 for Waypoints

The 2018 ATCO Fort McMurray Food Festival raised $50,000 for Waypoints.

“This truly is a win-win for all,” says Waypoints Board Chari, Cliff Dimm. “This is an amazing event for our community, bringing attention to our excellent food and beverage industry and also our local entertainers…and as an awesome added bonus, provides much-needed funds for us at Waypoints to sustain our ever growing and needed programs and services!.”

The second annual festival featured seven events in five days, including the Food Truck Showcase, the Best Pub Food Club, Summer Community BBQ, Largest Patio Party Ever, Taste of Fort McMurray, Boots N Brews and Anzac Beach party

The Best Pub Food Club, presented by Clearwater Physical Therapy in partnership with Diversified Transportation Ltd., Country 93.3 and 97.9 ROCK, had three coach buses take 150 people to some of the best pub food locations in Fort McMurray. Participants visited Earls/Fuel Fort McMurray, Surekha’s on the Snye, Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria, The Den, Wood Buffalo Brewing Company, and Prime Test Kitchen.

BEST FOOD: Surekha’s on the Snye

BEST DRINK: Prime Test Kitchen

BEST ENTERTAINMENT: Prime Test Kitchen

BEST OVERALL: Surekha’s on the Snye

 

Taste of Fort McMurray, presented by Suncor in partnership with Country 93.3 and 97.9 ROCK was held at Heritage Village where an estimated 700 people got together to sample some of the best dishes our region has to offer.

BEST EXPERIENCE: Jack’s BBQ Express

BEST CREATIVE: RRC/MacDonald Island

BEST SWEET: Surekha’s on the Snye

BEST PLATING: Chartwells

BEST SAVORY: Prime Test Kitchen

BEST OVERALL: Chez Max Jamaican Cuisine and Chef-To-Go Meals

PEOPLE’S CHOICE: Chez Max

 

The first ever Boots N’ Brews, presented by TELUS in partnership with Country 93.3 was also held at Heritage Village where an estimated 1,700 people attended the event.

The 2019 Fort McMurray Food Festival is tentatively scheduled for July 24-29.
