The Wood Buffalo RCMP are cracking down on crime in the region.
In a press release, the RCMP said they’re Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has targeted areas in the community identified with a ‘higher crime rate’, at the moment the CRU is focusing on the downtown core.
In the month of July officers executed 13 arrest warrants including repeat offenders, seven individuals were charged with a total of 18 breaches, seven people were charged with a total of 31 Criminal Code of Canada offences and a number of compliance checks were completed to ensure court orders are being followed.
The CRU provides support to the whole municipality and assists other sections of the detachment.
