Local theatre company announces 2019 performances

Theatre; Just Because released their lineup of plays for the 2019 performance season.

The local independent theatre company encourages local artists to own their craft and the upcoming season will be a great display of local talent.

The annual Waypoints dinner fundraiser will be an original show titled, AHOY! A Pirate’s Life for Me and be have performances running from January 31 till February 3.

“It is incredibly important to us that theatre can be used to meaningfully engage the community, so to partner with Waypoints again to support the vital work they do while developing local theatre artists is fantastic.” said director Diana Moser.

The Youth Play Production, High School Horror Story, will feature a story written by local teens with public performances in March.

For their fifth year anniversary Theatre; Just because will be participating at the the Alberta Drama Festival Association One Act Theater Festival in April of 2019.

The company’s New Play Development Series will workshop a script written by local first-time playwright Mike Jones of Country 93.3, which will be featured during the Alberta Culture Days in September.

They will also be collaborating with Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre for a production of Shakespeare’s classic Macbeth in May of 2018.
