Two men face charges after man airlifted to Edmonton

Two men have been arrested after an altercation led to one of them being air-lifted to Edmonton.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre on Sept. 12 around 5:10 a.m. and immediately initiated an investigation.

The investigation found that there was an altercation at a business establishment near Eagle Ridge Blvd. and Loutit Rd., which later continued at a residence in Timberlea. Police said the two men knew each other.

Jeremiah Roger Fryer, 29, of Fort McMurray was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Point a Firearm
  • Use a Firearm in a Careless Manner
  • Possession of a Weapon for a purpose Dangerous to the Public Peace
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Obstruct Police

 

Robert Dorton, 29, of Fort McMurray was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Assault
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Assault with a Weapon

 

Both men have been released from police custody. Fryer will appear at the Fort McMurray Court House on Oct. 22 and Dorton will appear in court on Oct. 17.

Police don’t believe this was a random act.
