Two charged after collision in Thickwood

Two men have been charged after a collision in Thickwood on Sept. 17.

Wood Buffalo RCMP received several calls between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. about a stolen vehicle, an erratic driver, a theft from a business in Thickwood, an impaired driver and then a call for a collision involving other vehicles.

The two men fled from the collision on foot and were quickly located and apprehended.

Dylan Kevin Janvier, 23, is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
  • Fail to Stop or Remain
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • 4x Fail to Comply with Conditions
  • Theft Under $5000.00
  • Adult Drive uninsured motor vehicle on highway
  • Adult Operate Motor Vehicle without holding a subsisting operator’s licence
  • Improper Disposal of Waste on Public Land

 

The other suspect, a 22-year-old, is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
  • Theft Under $5000.00

 

His name can’t be released because his charges have yet to be sworn.

He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 17.

Police are asking for video footage from the Thickwood area along Thickwood Blvd. and Signal Rd. between 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

A driver of another vehicle involved in the collision suffered non-life threatening injuries.
