Keyano College will host the 2019 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Basketball Conference Championships for the first time in its history.

Over 100 of the best college women’s basketball players in the province will be in the region for the championships from Feb. 28 to March 2, 2019.

Jonathan Lambert, Athletic Director of Sport & Student Wellness said it will be a privilege to host the event.

“It will be an opportunity for the community to experience some of the best women’s college basketball offered in Alberta.”

Keyano has grown and tasted success since they joined the ACAC back in 2010.

The women’s basketball team finished first in the North Division last season with an 18-6 win-loss record and was ranked nationally for the first time, placing fourth in the country.

Coaches are confident the team will be competitive at the tournament since the core of last year’s team will return this season.

All tournament games will be played on the Canadian Natural Resources Limited Gymnasium at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre.
