Snow Angels program back for a ninth year

The Snow Angels program is returning to the region.  The Municipality is looking for volunteers to shovel the personal walkways and driveways of senior’s homes in the community.

The program began as a pilot project in 2009 with nine homes. Now in its ninth year, the Snow Angel Program has grown to over 100 homes

“We live in an isolated, northern community and the more support we have from each other, the warmer our community will be,” said Steve Andrejiw, Social Program Advisor with Neighbourhood and Community Development. “The Snow Angel Program provides a helping hand to the most vulnerable seniors in our region and without the program, many of these seniors would need to leave their homes.”

Seniors 65 or older may be eligible to register for the program and have their walkways and driveways shoveled.

Volunteers will be provided with shovels and ice scrapers that have been donated by the RMWB.
