A new app, Get In The Loop, is a mobile marketing platform that has launched in the community to promote local businesses and shopping local.

Franchise owners of the app, Sean Robertson, Nate Ouelette and Scott Germain, have been members of the community for a long time and were tired of hearing people missing out on events, sales and deals.

“We’re a closed ecosystem and this is one way for people to see everything in one spot,” said Ouelette.

Germain told MyMcMurray their goal is to connect local businesses to consumers.

“The problem that we’re trying to solve is that there are so many awesome and unique businesses in town and Fort McMurray as we have a large transit population, so how do we connect all these consumers who are looking for a new and exciting experience,” said Germain.

Local businesses can sign up to be a part of the app and advertise up to five unique offers for the app users or consumers to engage in.

Once users download the app on their mobile device, in real time and location it will send them push notifications of offers in their area. This includes food and entertainment deals as well as retail.

The free app is available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
