United Way, Fuse Social and Wood Buffalo Community Foundation team up

The Boards of the United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo, Fuse Social, and the Wood Buffalo Community Foundation are teaming up for a project to help strengthen the social profit sector of Wood Buffalo.

The three social profit agencies will be working together to coordinate efforts within the region and create a steering committee to map out the future of the social profit sector in the community along with funded activities over the next three to five years.

Fuse Socials Board Chair, John Evans and Executive Director, Chantal Beaver will be on the committee with the Wood Buffalo Community Foundations Board Chair, Shelley Powell and Board Member, Tony Mankowsk and members from the United Way of Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo including Board Chair, Steve Yatauro and Executive Director, Cecilia Mutch.

“Wood Buffalo is a great community and we want the social profit sector to continue to thrive,” said John Evans. “This collaboration is a good starting point to creating a plan that will strengthen the sector and have many positive outcomes for our community.”

Other organizations will be encouraged to participate in the projects later on.
