Fort McMurray Public School District’s (FMPSD) Communications Manager Kiran Malik-Khan has been honoured for her work enhancing communications in education.

Malik-Khan travelled to Toronto for the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE) conference where she was honoured with the National BRAVO Award of Merit.

Her submission focused on the popular programs in the FMPSD in a Traditional Communications Piece called Early Learning Open House Article Series.

She said an open house is held every year by working with parents and staff to spotlight the elementary schools that offer Early Childhood Development and Kindergarten programs.

“The idea is to highlight what FMPSD offers and to go above and beyond to tell those heartfelt stories.”

Superintendent of the schools, Doug Nicholls called Malik-Khan “a passionate and dedicated communications professional.”

“She attends countless events in the Fort McMurray Public School District and Wood Buffalo region and can be counted on to keep the community informed of the many events and accomplishments being achieved.”

He added that she is very deserving of the national recognition for her work with the schools over the past three years.

She in turn thanked Nicholls for nominating her for the award and said she’s “blessed to work for FMPSD.”
