Wood Buffalo RCMP have taking 16 grams of suspected cocaine off our streets and arrested two men after they executed a search warrant at a downtown residence near Nixon Street and Biggs Avenue on Oct. 25, 2018.

As a result Aly El Fadli, a 28-year old from Ontario and Clarence Jameel Lawrence, a 22-year old from Sherwood Park have both been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Both men will appear in court on Dec. 11, 2018.

The RCMP Drug Section, Police Dog Service, Crime Reduction Unit and General Duty Officers all assisted in this incident.

“The hard work of our officers has significantly impacted the drug trade within our community. This investigation is a great example of how our detachment and Provincial Crime Reduction Strategies continues to be effective in addressing crime in our community,” says Staff Sergeant Keith Horwood, Acting Investigative Services Officer at Wood Buffalo Detachment.

In September,  RCMP increased enforcement in the downtown core of Fort McMurray as part of an Alberta RCMP initiative crime reduction strategy.
