Cold Shot Bus & Freight Service opened it’s new location in town earlier this month.

The service replaced Greyhound after they pulled all but one bus route in western Canada.

Cold Shot created a seamless transition, starting operations at their new location at 345 Sakitawaw Trail on Nov. 1.

Since their new location is out of town, Keith Coleridge of KM Courier Inc. and Fort McMurray’s agent for Cold Shot, said they’ve created two new pick up locations.

“We’ve found that it’s hard for people to cab from Timberlea now to Beacon Hill to get on the bus, so we’re trying to make it more convenient,”

He said that by creating the extra pickups – at Shell in Thickwood and Shell downtown – customers should be able to save on cab fare, compared to having to drive to Beacon Hill.

Along with schedule changes, Coleridge said that they’ve also gotten more economical 20 passenger buses with reclining leather seats with seatbelts.

Fort McMurray will have daily service to Edmonton, with stops in Grassland and Athabasca, then passengers will have to transfer depending on their destination.

Local agents, like Coleridge, will be able to make changes to their transportation services based on customer needs since the company is Alberta-based.
