The Municipality is encouraging you to shop local this holiday season and has launched the Vocal about Local campaign.
“We need business in this community to succeed and one way to do that is shopping locally, it is absolutely crucial,” said Mayor Don Scott.
Melanie Galea, local realtor and host of Discover Fort McMurray, is encouraging people to participate
“68 cents from every dollar spent goes back into the community, we need to keep our dollars here and support our own economy in a way that we have actual control over it,” said Galea.
Galea wants people to consider shopping locally and reaching out on social media too see if and where they can get their Christmas gifts locally before ordering online.
“Post on the vocal about local page, maybe you really can find it here, you might just not know it’s here,” said Galea.
