This year’s Corporate Challenge in support of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank (WBFB) got started with $110,000 in donations.
Syncrude donated $85,000 and Suncor donated $25,000.
Anna Noble, volunteer coordinator with WBFB encouraged everyone to participate, not just corporations.
“Even individuals, any amount that you can give. Every penny helps.”
The challenge kicks off the three day Syncrude Food Drive, which provides about 40 per cent of the WBFB’s food donations for the year.
This year’s goal is $350,000 and 85,000 lbs. of food.
