Preparations are underway for the Knights of Columbus 24th Annual Community Christmas Day Dinner, and several agencies expect a larger turnout in 2018.

Every year, this entirely charity driven event welcomes hundreds of guests and volunteers to gather on Christmas Day for a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. However, this year, organizers are expecting an increased number of attendees due to the lingering effects of the wildfires as well as the economic downturn.

Since the event relies on direct financial support, organizers are banking on our community’s kind and generous spirit to help ensure everyone gets to eat.

If you’d like to donate, call Lloyd at 780-714-1435. Cheques can be made payable to ‘Fort McMurray Community Christmas Day Dinner.’

If you’d like to volunteer call Jim at 780-791-3045.

The Fort McMurray Community Christmas Day Dinner will take place at the Father Turcotte School gymnasium downtown on December 25th from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Busing is available from the Salvation Army, the Centre of Hope, Marshall House and Father Turcotte School starting at 10 a.m.
