Kimberly-Clark has voluntarily recalled their regular absorbency, U by Kotex® Sleek® Tampons.
The product has been recalled in Canada and the United States for what the company calls a “quality-related defect.”
The company has received reports of the product unraveling or coming apart during removal, which has left some users to seek medical attention.
Some users have also reports infections, irritation, injury and other symptoms.
Retailers have been told to remove the recalled lot numbers from shelves and post notifications about the recall.
Lots manufactured between Oct. 7, 2017 and Oct. 16, 2018 should not be used. If you have one of these lots contact Kimberly-Clark.
The company has advised that people should seek medical attention if they experience vaginal injury or irritation, urogenital infections, hot flashes, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting following use of the product.
