Landmark Cinemas in Eagle Ridge has been opened since Nov. 9, 2018 and 48,000 people have been to the movies.

Bill Walker, Chief Executive Officer of Landmark Cinemas told MyMcMurray that “the community’s reception has been great.”

“We have had over 1,200 showtimes at the theatre so far and we’ve been able to put 48,000 people through the building,” said walker. “Some coming more than once I’m sure.”

The concession stand has also went through 32,000 popcorns as movie goers are reserving, reclining and relaxing at the new state of the art facility.

Walker was surprised by how quickly the community adapted to getting their tickets online.

“The one thing with reserved seating and with the recliner experience is that we’re often sold out,” said Walker.

He said that by being able to buy tickets far in advance ensures movie goers they get the best seats.

“No more putting your coat down to reserve your seat. Just get in there, grab some concessions, relax and you’ll enjoy the experience.” Said Walker. “Particularly over the holidays you’ll see with the number of movies coming out, it’s going to be really busy and it’s a great experience when you can book online in advance.”

This holiday season Walker said they have brought in five or six titles that all have great reviews and a great appeal to a wide audience.

“Between Aquaman and Mary Poppins and Spiderman Verse, there is content for everyone.”

Tickets can be purchased online, through the Atom app, or at the box office, which opens half an hour before the first showing.
